ANZAC Day

Students musicians

Warners Bay High School students' contributions to the Speers Point Dawn service, Valentine Lions Anzac day service and the WBHS Anzac Day service, helped to honour the bravery and sacrifice of our servicemen and women.

Our school Captains Jazmine O'Brien and Logan Romani read with confidence and expression and placed a wreath on behalf of WBHS. The Anzac Day Vocal Team sang beautifully providing a special atmosphere. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all students involved for their moving tribute on this significant day to honor those who have given so much for our nation.

MAP Mima

MAP Mima is one of the CAPA High Potential and Gifted Education Programs for 2024.

Students participated in workshops and a half day excursion to visit the Multi Arts Pavilion MIMA at Speers Point.  Students were provided with the opportunity to work with artists, curators, the council media team, musicians and teachers.

Students captured drone footage of the site and workshops, created a film installation using experimental modes of recording an image, gathered footage for a promotional video, engaged in lockbox activities and took sound recordings of the site to inform a soundscape installation.

After a busy morning immersing at the site, students then returned to WBHS for a pizza lunch and broke out into their groups  to start to plan and create content for the CAPA HPGE Event being held at MAP Mima on Friday 22nd November.

Students will be working in the areas of Dance, Film, Media, Graphic Design, Sound Technology, Coding and Music Performance and will have 3 more scheduled half day workshops as part of the program.

All of the students showed passion and enthusiasm throughout the day and we look forward to working with them throughout the year. Special thanks to all of the artists and professionals for volunteering their time to work with our students.

We look forward to unveiling the Art Installation and Music Concert in November.
