2022 Highlights
Swimming Carnival
The WBHS Swimming Carnival kicked off in early Term 1. The carnival saw a massive turnout from our students, dressed and ready to compete for their respective houses. The day was well represented by the Year 12 cohort marking one of the final whole school carnivals these students would have in their high school journey. The unpredictable weather didn’t dampen the spirits of our students who dominated in the pool. The staff vs students relay provided some good entertainment for all involved.
Athletics Carnival
This year saw the WBHS Athletics Carnival took place at the Fearnley Dawes Athletics Club for the first time. The weather was beautiful, and students were prepped and primed for another amazing day on the track… and field. We saw a significant number of students experience success across a range of disciplines on the day and they would later continue to the Zone and Regional carnival over the consecutive weeks. It was noted by the staff at the venue the exceptional behaviour and manners of the WBHS students on the day, which is of no surprise to the PDHPE faculty, as we get to see this on the daily. We look forward to another great athletics carnival in 2023!
Representative Sport
Another year of success for WBHS students in the sporting arena. Over the course of 2022 several teams travelled near and far to represent our school, from: Netball, Basketball, Soccer, Rugby League, OzTag, Hockey, Tennis, Water Polo, Swimming, Cross Country, Athletics and many more. Some students were fortunate enough to be selected to represent the Hunter region and continued into the CHS and All Schools system. As a faculty and school, we are incredibly proud of their efforts and look forward to another year of success in 2023!
