"We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love.... and then to return home." Aboriginal proverb
WBHS has an active Junior AECG that meets to discuss and plan events such as NADIOC Celebrations and participate in a range of cultural opportunities. The Junior AECG provides a strong voice for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are also supported through individual programs identified in their PLP meetings.
The Aboriginal Education team is led by Mrs Lawler.
Kumaridha Local AECG
Kumaridah is an Awabakal word meaning “north of the lake”. WBHS is a close partner with Kumaridha Local AECG and an active and willing participant in local AECG meetings, and seek AECG representation on selection panels and at cultural events. The AECG’s focus is on communities having input into Aboriginal Education and is made up of volunteer members. They strongly invite Parents & Community members to attend and have their say in Aboriginal Education.
