Sister School Exchange
We had the incredible privilege of welcoming our sister school, Suginami Gakuin High School from Tokyo, for an unforgettable 10-day cultural exchange. Hosted by our wonderful students and their families, the experience was filled with laughter, learning, and meaningful connections. From classrooms to community adventures, the visit fostered lifelong friendships and left lasting memories for students, staff, and families alike.
French and Japanese Cuisine
This year, our French and Japanese teachers treated language students to a vibrant cultural food festival, featuring the much-anticipated Crêpe and Sushi Day. It was a delicious adventure, especially for our Year 7 students, who eagerly explored new flavours and immersed themselves in the tastes of French and Japanese cuisine.
Year 10 French Excursion
Our Year 10 French class embarked on a memorable cultural immersion day, beginning with an enriching French language session at the Alliance Française de Newcastle. Their journey into French culture continued with a visit to Coco Monde, an iconic French café and chocolateria, where they indulged in a delicious and authentic French-inspired lunch—a perfect blend of language, culture, and cuisine!
The National Languages Competition
The Language Perfect Competition brought out the best in all our language students, both in French and Japanese, who competed with great enthusiasm. Congratulations to everyone for their outstanding results!
The WBHS Language Championship added an extra layer of excitement, with prizes for 1st place in the school, including a Favourites box of chocolates, a Pizza Party lunch, certificates, and commendations. A huge round of applause to our Language Champions—well done!
