Stage 5 Marine Studies Swim Test

Coughlan's Swim Centre

Students will demonstrate their swim skills as part of Assessment Task 1 and the achieving of required outcomes of this course. Students will be walking from WBHS to Coughlan's Swim Centre and return, and will need to bring swimmers, towel, a long sleeved top, and $3 for entry to the venue. They will be required to attend the venue on two separate occasions. Students will be attending the venue during their normal Marine Studies class time. Students must wear full school sports uniform.

Year 11 Sport, Lifestyle & Recreation Genetics excursion

Year 11 SLR students will be attending five sessions at Genetics Fitness. They will design and implement a resistance training program with the supervision and support of a personal trainer and prior knowledge of content taught in theoretical lessons. Students will be walking to and from the venue during their normal SLR class time. Students are to wear full Sport uniform but can bring extra clothing appropriate for exercise if they wish. They will also need to bring a gym towel appropriate footwear and a water bottle. Students need to pay $40 DIRECTLY to Genetics on their first session.

Year 10PASS Canoeing Practical Unit

Students will participate in the practical component of the 10PASS Canoeing Unit as per the syllabus, and class teachers will advise students of the dates and times they will be attending. Students will be walking to and from the venue during their timetabled PASS class. Students must bring a change of clothes that can get wet, and a spare pair of old shoes. Canoes, paddles and bouyancy vests will be provided by WBHS.

Japanese classes 9JAX and 10JAZ will participate during periods 1-2. Japanese classes 8JAX and 10JAY will participate during periods 7-8. Students will experience traditional Japanese music and instruments.

Year 10 Focus Day at RAW Challenge

Doyalson

Students will participate in the Raw Challenge course at Doyalson. Students will learn motivation and team building. It will be a great bonding experience for Year 10 students. Students must wear clothes that they are willing to get dirty/muddy and bring their school uniform to change into after the event. No student will be allowed back on the bus in muddy/wet clothes. Lunch will be provided but students must bring a water bottle, a towel, and some food/drink for recess. Students are also required to bring their own face mask for use during bus travel through the Central Coast area. Buses will leave WBHS at 9.00am and return by 3.20pm. Please return the Waiver and Indemnity Form by Friday 26/02/21.
