Music and Visual Arts are very popular at WBHS with multiple elective classes across Years 8-12 with regular nominations for Encore and Art Express for outstanding HSC major works.

We encourage and support all students to achieve to the best of their ability.   We have high expectations of all students including high potential and gifted students.   We provide challenging, differentiated learning opportunities to nurture the talents of our high potential and gifted students

Student leadership

We value student leadership and strive to build this capacity in all our students through formal and informal leadership programs and practical experiences. Students are encouraged to take on leadership roles to be role models for the student body, serve the school community, and help build the foundation for future leadership success.

Student learning and wellbeing support

We prepare students for a rapidly changing world by developing skills like critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy. This involves integrating technology in meaningful ways, fostering student-led learning, and promoting collaboration through flexible learning environments. Key components include integrating technology like online platforms and interactive whiteboards, using project-based and flipped learning strategies, and focusing on General Capabilities such as ICT, ethical understanding, and personal and social capabilities, ethical thinking and problem solving, collaboration and leading by influence, agility and adaptability, initiative and entrepreneurialism, effective oral and written communication, accessing and analysing information, curiosity and imagination.

Tailored learning support
