Student Leadership

At WBHS, we value student leadership and strive to build this capacity in all our students.

Student leadership skills are developed through formal and informal leadership programs and practical leadership experiences. Students are encouraged to take on leadership roles in an endeavour to be effective role models for the student body, offer responsible service to their school and peers, and lay the foundation for future leadership success. Being a member of the Student Executive Team enables students to develop and strengthen leadership skills, contribute to school development and planning, connect with various agencies, assist fellow students in having their voice heard, share experiences, and participate in events for student leaders.

Leadership opportunities include:

  • Senior Student Executive team (Years 11-12)
  • Student Representative Council (Years 7-10)
  • Junior Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (JAECG, Years 7-12)
  • Environmental Representative Council
  • Leading sporting teams
  • Leading musical ensembles
  • Leading chess teams
  • Helping to organise school events
  • Leading small groups as part of teaching and learning activities

See your Deputy Principal or Year Adviser if interested in any of these opportunities.
