Kyah’s Design Story
Several workshops were held with Aboriginal students at WBHS to create and develop an inclusive design for a school polo shirt representing Aboriginal design and story lines.
Throughout the workshops the students presented their thoughts and ideas From this I was able to create the design for the shirt.
Element 1 – Represents’ Pathways’ indicated by the blue dots/circles that cross over the front and back of the shirt. These signify the coastal areas and waterways on Awabakal Country.
Element 2: Represents ‘Meeting Places and People’ indicated by the circular designs on the edges of the shirt where the pathways cross over and meet. This showcases the synergy of our journey’s with who we meet to share and exchange knowledge as students, community and teachers.
