On Friday March 1st, Year 12 Visual Arts students travelled to Sydney to view two exhibitions: Artexpress and Tacita Dean. Students were guided through Tacita Dean’s contemporary art practice which focuses on anachronism – things that were once futuristic but are now out of date, exhibited at the MCA. Works included film, drawing, painting and lithographs. Students moved from room to room and were engaged in various sensory experiences. This exhibition forms the basis for case study three, the third of their five compulsory case studies.
Sid Foggs bus company transported us in fine style and we were lucky to have Rock’in Ronnie as our bus driver – he was awesome.
We stopped at Macquarie’s Chair for a quick group photo and had lunch in the park before viewing Artexpress at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Thanks to Mr Burton and Mrs Pfister for accompanying these students.
