Work Experience Lake Macquarie City Council
Year 12 student Baxter recently completed work experience at the Lake Macquarie City Council Stores Department. He was involved in mail and package delivery, general running of the store and looking after inventory. Thank you to Adam, Kylie and the team at Lake Macquarie City Council for giving Baxter this opportunity.
Café Presto
Café Presto is presented by our senior Allstar students fortnightly for our special customers (the staff at WBHS).
The students create the advertising for staffrooms, collate and tally the orders, make a shopping list, grow fresh vegetables in the garden, cook up a storm, deliver great customer service, use a cash register and take care of accounts.
Excursion to Yamuloong to experience and learn about Aboriginal culture.
Students went on a bushtucker tour where they smelt and tasted different plants around the area. They got to touch and look at different artifacts such as tools and weapons that were used for hunting and gathering. Staff and students also enjoyed some tasty lemon myrtle muffins with wattle seed cream. A huge thank you to Rodney for taking us on a tour and teaching us about his culture.
