Celebrating Creativity: MAD Night Term 2 – A Night of Art, Expression and Community
On Wednesday night of Week 8, the CAPA Faculty proudly hosted our first MAD Night of the year — a celebration of the incredible talent and creativity of our Visual Arts, Photography and Visual Design Ceramics students from Years 7 to 11, along with our amazing Music students and their dynamic performances.
The evening transformed our school into a vibrant gallery space, showcasing a diverse and dynamic collection of student work. From bold paintings and expressive drawings to intricate ceramic pieces and thought-provoking photographic compositions, each work told a unique story. Students explored a wide range of themes, subject matter and media, demonstrating their developing technical skills, creativity and critical thinking.
The exhibition reflected the extraordinary talent within our school. It was inspiring to see how students have used their artmaking to express personal ideas, respond to the world around them and experiment with materials and techniques. For many, this was the first time exhibiting their work to a broader audience — a valuable and affirming experience that fosters confidence and pride in their artistic voice.
MAD Night also served as a vital reminder of the importance of celebrating the Creative and Performing Arts within education. Showcases like this provide students with authentic opportunities to share their work, engage with audiences and feel the power of art as a form of communication and connection.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the many parents, friends, families, staff and members of our wider community who braved the chilly winter weather to support our young artists and performers. Your presence made the night even more special, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere of celebration and encouragement.
We look forward to continuing to showcase the achievements of our amazingly talented students throughout the year. Thank you for being part of this inspiring event!
