Congratulations to our Bill Turner Cup team for their outstanding dedication and effort throughout the year. The team enjoyed an unbeaten run leading into the Murray Weaver Final, with all players and coaches demonstrating great commitment and continually working to improve their soccer skills.

Although their journey ended after a hard-fought match in the final, every student who participated should be incredibly proud of their achievements and the way they represented our school.

Open Boys Hockey

Recently, the Open Boys Hockey team competed in the CHS Knockout. Whilst the boys did not get the results they were after they all enjoyed the day, which was for many their first taste on the sport.

All boys played with great sportsmanship and confidence. Well done boys.

A special mention to our WBHS Library Assistant Wendy St Cyr and Mr Peter Roach for their kind donation of equipment. This meant that all the boys had access to quality equipment and that they were all able to enjoy the day.

Great results for our Futsal teams

The WBHS boys and girls Futsal teams competed in the Lake Macquarie Regional Futsal Tournament at Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium recently.

There were 7 teams playing across three age groups in the boys division, and 3 teams playing across the three age groups in the girls division - this was a new record in participation numbers for WBHS.

All students represented WBHS with distinction over the two days. The U16 boys were winners on the day, and the two U19 boys teams created history when they played an all WBHS grand final.

The U16 girls were runners-up as well, and all 4 teams now progress to the Northern NSW titles later this month.

Congratulations to our Open Boys Tennis Team - Darcy M, Sam L, Charlie R, Jonas T and Zane Z - for securing 2nd place in the Hunter Region Stan Jones Cup!

After a strong win against Morisset High, the boys advanced to the Gala Day Tournament, where they showcased impressive skill and determination. They claimed victory against Swansea High and then faced tough competition from Merewether High in a close match, using excellent teamwork and communication to come out on top.

In the final showdown against a well-prepared Hunter Sports High, our team put up a strong fight, playing with determination and spirit in every set. While Hunter Sports took the win, our players displayed exceptional sportsmanship and should be incredibly proud of their efforts!
