Year 8 Visual Arts recently students embarked on an inspiring excursion to Nobby's Beach and Lake Macquarie Art Gallery, immersing themselves in the world of nature and art to enhance their understanding of landscape painting.

The day was packed with hands-on activities, artistic exploration, and plenty of opportunities to develop their creative skills.

The morning began at Nobby's Beach, where students took in the coastal scenery and engaged in a series of artistic exercises. They worked collaboratively to create dynamic sand sculptures. They also spent time photographing and sketching the surrounding landscape to inform their upcoming landscape painting assessment.

In the afternoon, the group visited Lake Macquarie Art Gallery, where they viewed the 'First Class' exhibition showcasing a range of exemplary HSC artworks.

It was a fantastic day filled with learning, creativity, and fun—one that will undoubtedly shape the students’ approach to their upcoming landscape painting.
