Dear Parents and Carers
As Term 2 comes to a close, I would like to thank you for your wonderful support. This semester has had so many successes and celebrations for our school community. Our students continue to achieve outstanding results across a wide range of academic, sporting, cultural and community endeavours at a school, regional, state, national and international level. It has been a privilege to acknowledge and congratulate students at our Semester One formal presentation assemblies this week.

Term 2 Presentation Assemblies
Congratulations to all WBHS students for a very successful semester. Success comes in many forms and we are proud of each and every student. Many thanks go to the students who officiated, presented and performed at these assemblies. The following students received awards for the most commendations for Semester One: Lachlan B (Year 7), Charlotte E (Year 8), Joel C (Year 9), Riley N (Year 10) and Madison T (Year 11).

Regional North Excellence Awards
Congratulations to Mrs O’Keefe who was recently awarded a Regional North Excellence Award to acknowledge her valuable work here at WBHS as well as her contributions to the wider educational community.
Staffing Update
Congratulations to Mrs Farrugia who has been appointed as Head Teacher English at Erina High School. Mrs Farrugia will continue with us in Term 3 and start her new position in Term 4.
WBHS NBA Competition
The WBHS NBA Competition ran again this year with amazing success. The competition saw students from all year groups complete against each other as well as against staff, displaying fairness, respect, integrity and inclusivity. Congratulations to the Pelicans from Year 12 who won the final last Friday. Thank you to Mrs Farrugia for organising this fabulous event and also thank you to Taylor Hedley Property for sponsoring the finals series and providing medals and prizes.
Starstruck
Congratulations to all WBHS students who participated in Starstruck. The performances were absolutely outstanding. WBHS students shone across many areas including vocalists, dancers, band members, tech team, event planning and management.
Year 12 Trial HSC and Term 3 HSC Major Work and Performances
Year 12 students are currently preparing for the Trial HSC period which runs Weeks 2 and 3 of Term 3. Year 12 students have been provided with a Trial HSC package which includes all necessary information about the rules and procedures of the Trial HSC as well as the Trial HSC timetable and the Holiday Tutorial Timetable.
Term 3 brings the submission of HSC Major Works for some courses as well as HSC Performance Exams for some courses. These dates have all been communicated to Year 12 via the Term 3 calendar.

Senior Student Executive 2024/2025
Students have been advised that nominations are currently open for Year 10 and Year 11 students to nominate for the Senior Student Executive 2024/2025. Application forms are available from the front Office and close Friday July 26.
Uniform Update
The new polo shirt featuring a stunning Aboriginal design will be available for all students to purchase in Term 3. The suppliers have indicated it should arrive (early to mid) Term 3.
Year 8, 9, 10 Parent Teacher Night
We look forward to parents and carers joining us on Wednesday 24 July for the Year 8, 9, 10 Parent Teacher Night. Bookings are currently open via the Sentral Parent Portal.

- Monday July 22 – School Development Day (staff only) Staff professional learning will focus on student mental health, explore the underlying reasons and factors that influence behaviour, and strategies to support students to maximise their learning and wellbeing outcomes.
