Star Struck: A Spectacular Showcase of Creativity

We were dazzled by the brilliance of our talented students at this year's Star Struck!

Featuring an array of captivating performances in music, dance, and drama, this annual Creative and Performing Arts spectacular was a showcase of sheer artistic excellence. From heartwarming musical numbers to electrifying dance routines and captivating theatrical performances, Star Struck celebrates the creativity and dedication of our students and teachers. 

Congratulations Jaiden Lee R - Featured Artist Backing Vocalist, Patrick L - Featured Artist Backing Vocalist, Madison T - Featured Artist Backing vocalist and soloist for the Anthem in Language, James H - Featured Artist Orchestra Baritone Saxophone, Olivia H - Featured Artist Tap Dancing.

Our gifted Sound and Stage students Riley N and Cohen D were recognised for their skills and initiative and invited to work with the professional audio team Eclipse.

WBHS represented the school with two dances, and our Entertainment students worked long hours and were an invaluable asset to the show.

Teachers Tavis M, Marion K and Emma H mentored and supported students throughout the show and in the months of preparation prior to the show.

MAD Night

The WBHS Creative and Performing Arts students put together an impressive showcase of Music and Art for the first MAD night of 2024.

The musicians were supported by the WBHS Tech Team and the Entertainment class.

The Big Band, Jazz Band and Choir all performed with confidence and style showcasing their work from the first semester.

MAD Night is a result of  the hard work and dedication our students have poured into their artistic endeavors. It's a wonderful opportunity for our school community to witness firsthand the power of expression through music and art.

Band Link

Students musicians

Five of the WBHS Big Band students have joined the wider Band community to participate in Band link.

Band Link is a series of  2-day workshops for public school students in Years 5 to 12 who play a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument.

The staff are professional instrumentalists who have specialised skills in Concert Band and Jazz band.

Congratulations to April W and Ellen M. These students have been selected through an audition process to represent Warners Bay High School at the prestigious State Wind Band performance at the Sydney Opera House. This honour recognises their exceptional musical talent and dedication.

Ellen and April will participate in two intensive days of rehearsals, honing their instrumental and performance skills. Their hard work will culminate in two spectacular performances, showcasing their artistry in one of the world's most iconic venues, the Sydney Opera House.

Congratulations to Ellen and April for this remarkable achievement!

 

 

Major Music Project Day

Year 12 students are busy preparing for their external HSC Music exams in September.

Monday and Tuesday of Week 10 is their Music Major Project Day. Students will present their HSC program to an external marker in the MPC.

The performances are sounding very accomplished, we wish you luck Year 12 musicians as you head into your final term of school.

 

 

Youth Rock

Congratulations to 'Industry Plant' - James H, Jack K Elijah B and Liam W. These students have been selected to represent WBHS in the statewide Rock Band competition Youth Rock.

Youth Rock is a Rock Band Eisteddfod held at the Bankstown Sports Club Grand Ballroom.

The students have the chance to perform in a competition and receive feedback from Industry professionals. They will participate in workshops and have the opportunity to collaborate with other students from around the State and Industry professionals.

Formal Assemblies

In a harmonious display of talent and dedication, our students took center stage at recent Formal Assemblies to showcase their musical prowess. From soulful melodies to energetic beats, these young musicians captivated audiences with their exceptional performances. Whether strumming guitars, tickling the ivories, or belting out powerful vocals, each performance was a testament to their hard work and passion for music.

The school community was treated to a diverse array of musical genres, highlighting the depth and breadth of talent among our student body. These assemblies not only entertained but also inspired fellow students to explore their own creative potential.

We commend our talented musicians for their outstanding performances and look forward to witnessing more musical brilliance in the future. Let's continue to support and encourage our budding artists as they continue to share their gifts with us all!
