Our Textiles classes have been thinking creatively and learning lots of new skills during the term.
Read the stories below and click on any links to see their results.
Year 10 students participated in a mini taster lesson exploring HSC Textiles and Design themes.
During the lesson, they created scaled romantic tutus on models using various materials.
They also examined folios and past projects, uncovering and expressing their creative side.
More photos from this fun class can ben seen here.
The Year 10 Textiles Technology students have been learning the art of felting.
For their unit focused on the 2024 Met Gala theme, "The Garden of Time," they created beautiful petals using merino wool and Bombyx silk fibres.
See more of their work by clicking here.
In Year 11 Textiles and Design class, students delved into the properties of fibres through an engaging discovery lesson using pic glasses.
They explored various aspects of textile fibres, including: worsted and woollen, staple, crimp, knit and weave types.
This hands-on lesson allowed students to observe and analyse fibre properties up close, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of textile materials.
