MAP Mima 2024

students performing on stage

On Friday the 22nd of November, MAP Mima Speers Point was alive with creativity and talent as the High Potential and Gifted Student groups hosted a stunning Music and Art Showcase. The event celebrated the extraordinary talents of students across various disciplines, including Dance, Graphic Design, Media, Film, Music Technology, Coding, and Music Performance.

The showcase provided a platform for students to exhibit their skills, passion, and hard work. Performances and displays captivated the audience, with highlights including a contemporary dance routine performed alongside the film installation, and a series of mesmerizing live music performances.

The coding projects unfortunately could not be displayed due to technology issues, however it will be exhibited at a later date. You can few the coding sequence by clicking here.

The sequence offers a glimpse into the technological creativity of the students, demonstrating their ability to blend art with innovation. The dates of the exhibition will be publicised when we have more information.

The Communications and media team created a website to showcase the event also which can be viewed by clicking here.

The evening was a resounding success, bringing together families, educators, and community members to celebrate the students’ achievements. Attendees were treated to an engaging and dynamic program that highlighted the breadth of talent within the school. Thankyou to ‘The Skullery’ and ‘Lake Mac Ice Cream’ for providing food and refreshments on the night.

Parents and community members left inspired by the creativity and dedication of the students, with many commenting on the professionalism and originality of the work displayed. The event also fostered stronger community connections, reinforcing the importance of supporting young talent in the arts and technology.

We would like to thank our Principal Mr Neale and all teachers involved in the program and event, our wonderful students who so passionately engaged in the whole program, Lake Macquarie City Council and Lake Mac Arts for facilitating our students and the event, Scion Sound, and our wonderful community for supporting our students.
