Rotary "Pride of Workmanship" Award

Madison T receiving her award

Congratulations Madison on receiving the Warners Bay Rotary "Pride of Workmanship Award" from Warners Bay Rotary. The event was celebrating excellence in our community.

Madison T is a member of the Senior School Executive, School Representative and Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. As a 16 year old she displays a sense of responsibility and work ethic well beyond her years.

Over the last year the output of her school leadership and representation has included, Anzac Day choir leader, Starstruck Lead Singer, NSW Young Leaders Day Rep, fundraisers and WBHS Community of Schools presentations. As a black belt she also finds time to teach self-defense and safety in the local community through her teaching of school-aged children at Hunter Valley Martial Arts Centre.

Madison is renowned locally for proudly singing the national anthem in Awabakal language at numerous events and opened the StarStruck 2024 as a soloist in front of an audience of thousands at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre. The quality of her musical work has been recognised through the Belmont Rotary Morton Scholarship in 2024 and the receipt of Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services which certifies her ability to produce music events within the Work Health Safety requirements.

Madison has shown initiative in developing her knowledge of her own aboriginal culture, acquiring skills in leadership and music, and representing her peers, school and culture in an inspirational manner that continues to impress all those involved with her education.
