This year saw the return of our school café run and catered by the students from our Special Education Unit.
The students plan, prepare, cook and serve the staff of Warners Bay High School with a rotating menu, that usually changes every 2-3 weeks.
This year some of the options being sold include home (or school) made hot cross buns with hot chocolate, milkshakes and muffins, burritos and burrito bowls, nachos and healthy veg or fruit juices.
We have recently purchased a cash register which allows students to learn to program and use the register, while practising real world maths.
In the café, students learn and re-learn vital life skills such as social skills, customer service, safe food preparation and even oven cleaning.
All the staff are extremely proud of how adaptive and professional our students have been while working in the school café.
