On Friday, 11 February WBHS hosted their annual whole school swimming carnival. The carnival was held at Wallsend Swimming Pool.
The day was action packed with a plenty of competition. We were lucky enough to complete the full schedule of the competitors carnival. Unfortunately the weather did not hold out until after the carnival and students had to be removed and kept out of the pool on two separate occasions because of lightning. As a result, the novelty part of the carnival was reduced. This didn’t dampen the fun and excitement that the students had cheering and supporting their house swimmers and friends. Students also had fun playing volley ball and football in the time the pools where closed. The school carnival saw over 50 WBHS competitors be successful to compete at the Zone swimming carnival.
We wish all the successful WBHS zone competitors the best of luck at the regional carnival to be held in the coming weeks.
