BandLink Newcastle 2025

Students who are part of the WBHS Band Program in Years 7-9 will travel to Bishop Tyrell Anglican College to participate in Band - Link workshops where they will develop music and ensemble skills working with students from other schools with direction from professional musicians and conductors.

Students are expected to make their own way to and from the venue.  Students will need to be dropped at 9am, and picked up from the venue at 3pm on both days. Please ensure you arrange your students to be dropped off and collected from the 'Kiss and Ride' on Karn St, off Awabakal Drive, Fletcher.

Concert: Wednesday 2 July - 2:15 pm (Parents to meet at the car park gate to be taken to the concert venue)

Students are to bring their own Instrument. Students must provide their own pencil.

Music stands will be provided in 2025 so no student needs to bring a music stand.

Percussion and drums – if you have percussion instruments or drums, can you please bring your own drum sticks and hand percussion, if possible. Drum kits will be provided at the venue in 2025.

Electric Keyboards/Bass Guitar - if you are coming with Keyboard Bass or Bass Guitar, please bring your own keyboard, bass guitar, keyboard/amp or bass amp as required as these will NOT being supplied. Please bring extension leads and power boards and guitar / keyboard leads. Please bring keyboard stands.

Please ensure that all your equipment is clearly labelled.

Students should wear full school uniform including covered shoes. Wear WARM clothes as it could be quite cool while sitting and playing in the band situation.

No facilities to purchase food will be available. Students should bring snacks and food for recess and lunch. Please bring water bottle. There will be no eating in the ensemble spaces at any time. All water MUST be in a bottle (no cups please).

Please note there will be no teacher from Warners Bay High School attending this excursion.
