Year 10 CAPA Art Excursion

Students are to investigate and explore Luna Park as a source of inspiration for their artmaking in Year 10 Visual Arts, Photographic and Digital Media, and Visual Design/Ceramics to produce a Body of Work.

Students will also visit the MCA Gallery to complete a work sheet in preparation for their critical and historical studies.

Students will be travelling by bus.

Students should wear full school sports uniform and wear covered, comfortable walking shoes. Students are advised that moderate physical activity will be required on the excursion (approximately 2km walk from the MCA across the harbour bridge to Luna Park).

Students should bring snacks and food for recess and lunch. Students can also bring money to purchase food from Luna Park.

Please bring camera and or phone for taking photgraphs, water bottle, hat and sunscreen.

Optional: Students are able to use the rides, so please bring money for this if you would like to go on the rides at Luna Park or pre-purchase your tickets online.  If students wish to purchase ride passes, please do so online in advance of the excursion. Passes can be purchased on the day; however, pre-purchased passes are discounted. If parents/carers have an NRMA membership, passes are further discounted when purchasing through the app.

Note: Students do not have to use the rides on the day, it is only an option. Our educational purpose is to take photographs of the urban environment, architecture and Luna Park on the day to inspire the subject matter for a Body of Work that students will be creating in their next unit of work.
