Year 9 PASS Lightweight camping excursion to Berowra

POSTPONED DUE TO  EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS.

Students will hike into the National Park along the Great North Walk and will arrive at Crosslands Reserve by approx 3:30pm. They will set-up the campsite and camp overnight. Students are expected to bring their own food and need to cook and clean up after themselves. Students will leave Crosslands Reserve approx 9am the next morning and hike back out of the National Park to Mt Kuring-Gai where they will be collected by the buses.

Students will be travelling by bus and will be leaving WBHS at 9:30am on Thurs 12/10 and returning to WBHS by 3:30pm on Fri 13/10

Students will be provided with an extensive packing list prior to the excursion. They will also be supplied with a WBHS hiking backpack. This will be carried by the student throughout the hike (including sleeping bag/pillow/yoga mat etc). 

Students are expected to wear appropriate clothing for hiking including appropriate footwear - Van's, Converse and Air Force One's are not suitable for walking. Student shoulders must be covered and long tights or pants are preferred (no cropped t-shirts). Students must also wear a hat throughout the walk to minimise the risk of sunburn.

Students will need to supply ALL food for the excursion as part of their 'Lightweight Camping' Unit. They will need to store and carry this food with them on the hike. They will specifically need food for:

Day 1 - Lunch, Snacks, Dinner (*Lunch will be at Naa Badu Lookout*)

Day 2 - Breakfast, Snacks, Lunch
