Congratulations to Ava K and Lucy L: Showcasing Excellence at the First Class 24 Exhibition

We are delighted to announce that two of our talented students, Ava K and Lucy L, have been selected to exhibit their 2024 HSC Bodies of Work at the prestigious First Class 24 exhibition held at the Museum of Art and Culture Lake Macquarie, yapang (MAC yapang). This esteemed annual exhibition celebrates the exceptional creativity and dedication of Higher School Certificate Visual Arts students from the Hunter and Central Coast regions.

Ava K has captivated audiences with her richly coloured impressionistic landscape paintings, drawing inspiration from her travels across Europe. Her use of colour and texture transports viewers to serene European vistas, reflecting both her technical skill and artistic vision.

Lucy L explores innovative threaded works that intertwine text and photographs to delve into the complexities of human psychology. Her unique approach challenges traditional artmaking forms, offering profound insights into the human experience through her meticulous practice.

Being selected for the First Class 24 exhibition is a significant achievement, highlighting the high caliber of our students' artistic endeavours. This exhibition not only provides a platform for young artists to showcase their work in a professional setting but also underscores the importance of nurturing and celebrating emerging talent within our community.

We encourage everyone to visit the exhibition and support our students:

  • Dates: Saturday, 15 February 2025 to Sunday, 6 April 2025
  • Location: Museum of Art and Culture Lake Macquarie, yapang, 1A First Street, Booragul, NSW, 2284

Congratulations once again to Ava and Lucy for their outstanding achievements. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and artistic contributions.
