Year 12 University Information Evening

Date: 14 May
Time: 6:00-6:45 PM
Location: WBHS MPC

All Year 12 students, parents and caregivers are invited to attend an information evening in the MPC on Wednesday 14th May commencing at 6pm and concluding at approximately 6.45pm. The meeting is to provide information on: · Applying to university · University Early Entry Schemes · Educational Access Scheme We look forward to your attendance at this evening and trust that it will assist you in providing guidance to your son or daughter as they plan their transition from high school.

Year 12 Chemistry Orica excursion

Date: 14 May
Time: 9:10 AM-2:00 PM
Location: ORICA Newcastle

This excursion to Orica is for Year 12 Chemistry students to gain first hand experience of a large scale chemical process and to assist students to complete their depth study.

Open Boys Soccer Puma Cup

Date: 14 May
Time: 9:45 AM-3:10 PM
Location: Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility, Speers Point

On Wednesday 14th of May selected students from Year 10, 11, and 12 will participate in the Puma Cup. Game 1 vs Kotara @ 10:45am. Please arrive at the ground by 9:45 Game 2 vs T.B.A @1:15pm. Students are expected to make their own way to and from the venue. Students should wear full school sports uniform and bring black shorts, black socks, boots, shin pads, water bottle, and sunscreen. Students should bring snacks, food and drink for the day, however, canteen facilities will also be available to purchase food.

U13's Rugby League Country Cup

Date: 15 May
Time: 8:30 AM-3:00 PM
Location: Hunter Barnett Field - Windale

Selected students from Year 7 and Year 8 will compete in the U13's Rugby League Country Cup tournament. Students must make their own way to and from the venue. Students should wear full school sports uniform and bring football boots, mouth-guard (compulsory), headgear (optional), shorts, socks and strapping tape (if required). Students should bring snacks, food and drink for the day. Canteen will be open for extra purchases.

Year 10 Careers Expo 2025

Date: 15 May
Time: 10:10 AM-12:50 PM
Location: Newcastle Jockey Club

An excursion is being planned for Year 10 students to visit the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Jockey Club on Thursday 15th May 2025 where students will be involved in viewing exhibits provided by employers, training providers and tertiary institutions. The purpose of this event is to provide information to support students with their subject selection and transition from school to their future careers. Students will be travelling by bus. Students should wear full school uniform including covered shoes. Students should bring a water bottle and lunch.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Dance Group

Date: 15 May
Time: 11:30 AM-12:30 PM
Location: WBHS MPC

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Dance Group for boys and girls. There will be ongoing workshops on Thursday for the rest of Term 3 at varying times to minimise the impact on the subjects the students miss. The workshops are designed to immerse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in culture to develop and/or enhance connection to culture.
