Sculpture by the Sea

Date: 30 October
Time: 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
Location: Bondi

Year 11/12 Visual Arts students to view and document Sculpture by the Sea exhibition on the coastal walk from Tamarama to Bondi Beach in Sydney. This experience is to be used as source material for one of their compulsory Case Studies for the HSC Course. **This excursion is non-refundable. Students will be travelling by bus. Students should wear full school sports uniform and should bring a camera, water bottle, hat, sunscreen. Students should bring snacks, food and drink for the day and/or money for same. The excursion will return to school at 4.30pm, this will mean the students will need to be collected from school or find their own way home as the school buses will have departed.

CBD College Barista Course

Date: 14 November
Time: 4:30 AM-5:30 PM
Location: CBD College Haymarket

As part of the Hospitality (VET) course students are to undertake barista training as part of the course requirements. The barista course from CBD is a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment listing the units SITHFAB005 Prepare and serve espresso coffee and SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety. It is a 5-hour barista experience that starts from the basics and culminates in two hours of non-stop coffee-making focusing on milk texturing and coffee art. Students are to make their own way to Cardiff Train Station at the start of the day and home from Cardiff Train Station at the end of the day. Students must bring their own Opal Card, pre loaded with enough funds for the return train trip. Students should wear full school uniform including covered shoes. The only cost is train fare and food/drink as wanted. There will be an hour break to go buy food if desired. Please bring recess and lunch if you would like. Please bring water bottle. There are plenty of opportunity to buy food and drinks throughout the day also. Train leaves 4:40am from Cardiff Train Station (students need to arrive at 4:30am) Train arrives at Central (Sydney) 6:57am Barista Course starts at 8am and finishes at 2pm Train leaves Central (Sydney) 3:47pm and arrives at Cardiff Train Station at 5:34pm.
