In the latest PISA test, WBHS had a greater percentage of students reported as ‘high performers’ when compared to ‘like students’ and ‘all students’. PISA defines high performers as students who are highly proficient and demonstrate high levels of knowledge and skills in the assessment area. They are able to draw on and use information from multiple and indirect sources to solve complex and challenging problems.
Reading Literacy: WBHS 14% (like students - 12%; all students - 13%).
Mathematical Literacy: WBHS 14% (like students - 10%; all students - 10%).
Scientific Literacy: WBHS 9% (like students - 9%; all students - 9%).
PISA is an international triennial assessment of 15‐year‐old students focusing on the core school subjects of reading, mathematics and science. The assessment does not just ascertain whether students can reproduce knowledge, it also examines how well students can reason from what they have learned and how they apply that knowledge in unfamiliar settings, both in and outside of school.
