Hunter Final
WBHS vs Hunter River HS
The day started well for the Warners Bay Boys with Captain Zane P winning the toss and electing to bat.
Opening batsman Bailey C and Zane P laid a solid foundation moving the score to 34 before Bailey fell to a good piece of spin bowling for 11.
This was the only wicket Warners Bay team lost with Coopah H and Zane P forming an unbeaten 149 run partnership to result in a very competitive 1-183 after 40 overs.
Zane showed his class with an unbeaten 137 not out smashing the ball to all parts of the ground with Coopah being the perfect foil remaining 29 not out.
The Warners Bay boys continued their dominance in the field restricting the Hunter River boys to 4-43 after 20 overs, however, a relaxed attitude let the opponents back into the game over the next 15 overs with Hunter River progressing to 6-150 with 3 overs to go.
Once again, led by Captain Zane P, Warners Bay regained their composure to limit their opponents to 9-164 and win the Hunter title for the 3rd consecutive year. Best Bowling figures were Zane P (4-17); Aidan C (0-19); Will K (2-14) and Lachlan G (1-14).
Congratulations boys!
