The Year 9 PASS excursion concludes the Lightweight Camping unit of work.
The excursion will involve travel on an established track (part of the Great North Walk). Students will carry all their food, clothing and camping equipment in an appropriate rucksack (both tent and rucksack are provided by the school). The group will camp at Crosslands Reserve (established picnic area within the Berowra Valley Regional Park).
Online consent should be given and deposit paid ($32.00 deposit or full payment) by Friday 23rd September, to ensure a place on the excursion.
Note: As there is only one excursion (approx. 100 students) it will be a first in basis and then a waiting list will be formed. The balance is to be paid by Tuesday 11th October 2022. NB: $32 is non-refundable if students withdraw from the excursion.
Students will be travelling by bus and must arrive at school by 8:45am. The bus will depart from the school, just after 9:00am.
Students will need to bring a water bottle, hat, sunscreen and insect repellant, and bring their own sleeping equipment. Students will be provided their own rucksack and tent in the lead up to the camp. Lightweight tents will be provided to the students on arrival.
Students are to bring clothing suitable to walk in, sleep in and spend recreational time in. Appropriate footwear (enclosed and sturdy) is essential for the bushwalk, along with comfortable shoes (for the camp component).
Students will need to supply all meals and drinks. Students should also bring money for lunch on the second day.
