The school began with 266 students and 11 teachers. Today we have an enrolment of more than 1,300 students and a staff of 130.
The school motto was created by Mr McGeorge, Supervising Secondary Inspector and Latin teacher “Vera Virtus Vinci Nescit” which translates to “True Worth Knows No Defeat”.
Mrs L Booth (Principals wife) devised the school uniform, modelled on a London design.

For girls
- Box pleated Gordon Tartan tunic and tie
- White blouse, black shoes
- White socks or black stockings
- Black jumper with yellow stripe
- Black blazer with school badge
For boys
- Grey pants
- White shirt
- Tartan tie
- Black shoes
- Black jumper or blazer
Original House Flag Designs 1966
GELFIUS - named after the District Superintendent, Mr W A Gelfius
PHILLIPS - Named after the architect of the school.
SPEERS - named after a local businessman, Mr W Speer.
WARNER - named after the original settler to Warners Bay, Mr Johnathan Warner.
